🚔 OP AURORA | SPEED ENFORCEMENT IN BROSELEY 🚔

1️⃣ What do we want the public to know?

Last night, your Safer Neighbourhood Team carried out speed enforcement checks on Dark Lane and Coalport Road, Broseley, as part of Operation Aurora and in response to concerns raised by local residents.

Despite both locations being clearly marked as speed enforcement sites on navigation apps such as Google Maps and Waze, four drivers were recorded exceeding the 30mph speed limit. Disappointingly, two of those drivers entered the 30mph zone from an existing 20mph limit.

Speeding continues to be one of the main concerns raised with the SNT in Broseley, and we will continue to carry out enforcement and education activity where concerns are reported.

2️⃣ How do we want the public to feel?

Everyone deserves to feel safe when using our roads, whether they are walking, cycling, riding, or driving. Speed limits are there to protect all road users and reduce the likelihood and severity of collisions.

Road safety checks are not about catching motorists out. They are about preventing harm and reducing the chances of families receiving the devastating news that a loved one has been seriously injured or killed on our roads.
